It's just been revealed that the R4 and other current homebrew devices for the Nintendo DS will not work on the new DSi. This is Nintendo's first move against stopping the rampant piracy that has existed since the DS first came out. The R4, along with other devices, allows an individual to illegally download DS games and play them on their DS. With no modding involved and the fact that a R4 unit costs less than a single game, it has been only too easy for pirates to steal all the games they want. Unfortunately, even with Nintendo's modifications to the DSi, it's surely only a matter of time until the next homebrew solution comes out.

I just left the local Target, and I think the company is going a little crazy.  I decided to check out the clearance electronics, and noticed the clearance video games.  You would probably expect to find a few of the titles they had, but the rest of them are fairly recent titles with one of them not even being 2 months old.

Three big titles are out this week, Fallout 3, which is the first true sequel to the Fallout series in ten years, and fans have been chomping at the bit for. Guitar Hero World Tour, which now adds Vocals and Drums to the mix, ala Rock Band. Finally last, but not least, LittleBigPlanet; though some fans were lucky enough to get their paws on LBP a bit early, you'll now be able to find the game most everywhere.

E3 Is Back, Baby!

Earlier tonight, the guys over at G4 revealed that E3 is planning on making a huge comeback in 2009. So far, the following details have been revealed.

  • It will happen on June 2nd-June 4th at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
  • While E3 2009 still won’t be technically open to the public, the ESA plans on getting rid of the rigorous vetting procedure that has kept attendance down for the last couple of years. So expect attendance to shoot up by the thousands!
  • As for the return of booth babes… that’s still to be determined, but we have our fingers crossed.

Anyone else excited to see the Electronic Entertainment Expo become the gamers' event of the year? I know I am! The ESA will be making an official statement tomorrow and we'll have more details as they arrive, so stay tuned!

As of yet, Technicolor has not released a statement on Gray's employment or the thefts.
