Today on PSN you can get yourself one of the best arcade like games out there called The Last Guy. No you are not looking at Google Maps, it's actually a game. You control the Last Guy who is more of a super hero complete with cape. You run about the map area using your x-ray vision to see survivors trapped in buildings. Round them up and try to make your way to the escape zone while avoiding monsters. You can get the demo on PSN or spend $9.99 for the entire thing. There are also 2 free wallpapers to get. I played the demo lots last week and love the game, now if only Sony would release PSN cards so I could buy their awesome new arcade game.

This is exactly how a "hardcore gamer" rock(man)s out on his birthday. Also it would be acceptable to make this tasty treat on Mega Man 9 release day. Gobble down awesome robot fighting cake after you defeat Cake Man* and while you are battling Dr. Wily on your system of choice.

Who doesn't like Shenmue? Seriously, if you don't I will Thunderkick you in the skull and ask you where the sailor with the tattoo is. Here is probably the greatest fan song ever written about the best game to come from the Dreamcast. The song is by I Slay Evil Wizards. You can download the track from his myspace page or just check the video out after the break.

Home producer, Martijn Van der Meulen, told IGN and Kotaku that HOME on Playstation 3 will release this year. So everyone sitting around wishing they had a 3D PlayStation version of themselves to play pool with, live in a crazy slick pad that you would never afford, plan out your WarHawk runs on your inside sandbox, and figure out how to digitally hump someone can fret no longer. Right?

The original Oddword titles will always hold a special place in my heart, right next to Wonderboy. Valve has announced that these classic titles are now available on your favorite PC gaming content network thingy, Steam.

When skate. was announced for the 360 and PS3, I was weary.  Then the demo came out, and everyone learned well the Flick It control scheme was.  And when the game came out, it outsold Tony Hawk's Proving Ground 2 to 1.

With Skate It for the Wii (and the DS), I am not worried at all.  Especially after seeing the newest trailer.

In an interview with Kotaku, Ryan Payton (the luckiest Metal Gear fan on the planet) says he has officially left Kojima Productions. With no new games on the horizon and some bad family news, Ryan decided it was time to pack up and get back to the states & be closer to the family. Also he laments not being able to work with his "Kojima family" on METAL GEAR SOLID 5. (so thats confirmation its happeneing??@@!!) We here at DigitalSomething wish Ryan and his family all the best. Hopefully everything works out and we see something new and awesome come from Ryan. If you are unfamiliar with Ryan you can check out the podcasts he did for Kojima Productions during the development time of Metal Gear Solid 4, KP Report.

After the Final Fantasy XI guild, Beyond the Limitation, tried to best the Pandemonium Warden notorious monster in a marathon 18 hour boss battle, and still failing to kill it. Square-Enix is looking to rework some boss monster fights so they don't sap player's time, energy and well being.

How do you feel about remakes and rereleases of older games?
It's a good way to introduce new and younger gamers to the classics.
It's just another way for companies to make a quick buck on nostalgia.
It's a great way to revisit old games I love.
I don't care about old games, bring on the next-gen!
