ESRB Stops the Leaks
Posted: June 20, 2008 - 9:57 am by Matt

Over the last few years the official Entertainment Software Rating Board site has been a major source for finding details on previously unannounced titles. Most publishers submit game information months in advance to get the rating process set into motion. Once this information was submitted it would be published online. Well it looks those days are over.

According to a memo leaked to Next-Gen, when publishers submit their game for rating, they now have the option to choose a date when the title is eligible to be uploaded to the ESRB's website. If left blank, the game will be eligible for display 30 days after it has been rated.

I always wondered why the ESRB made this information availalbe so early. This move makes sense on that part of the ESRB as I am sure they ticked off a few publishers in the past. Looks like we will have to start looking elsewhere.

I heard that Suikoden 1 and 2 got submitted to the ESRB again. I'm not getting my hopes up, but I'd like to see them as PSN releases.

Yep, I start my shopping early to beat the rush.
Nope, I usually procrastinate, and wait until the last minute.
