Konami has just announced that Silent Hill:Homecoming will be a little bit late and be hitting in November now. So you will have to put off the creepy wandering and monster bashing off a couple months. Though the new Silent Hill will now be coming on PC as well as PS3 & 360. There will be no difference between any of the versions of the game no matter what format you choose to pick up. Unless you are trying to run it on a Pentium 3 with a 3D-Fx card from 1998, then you may have some problems.
