Fallout 3 DLC Packs Announced for PC and Xbox 360
Posted: November 25, 2008 - 2:20 pm by Brandon

I've still got plenty to do in the Capital Wasteland, but that isn't stopping Bethesda from giving us more Fallout 3 goodness. They've got three new DLC packs announced that will be released in the coming months as well as the PC editor and mod tools, which they've appropriately named "G.E.C.K." Hit the jump for details!

The first pack to be released is the PC editor, which hits the internets in December, no date yet. The other three packs follow:

  • Operation: Anchorage. Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe – the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders. An action-packed battle scheduled for release in January.
  • The Pitt. Journey to the industrial raider town called The Pitt, located in the remains of Pittsburgh. Choose your  side. Scheduled for release in February.
  • Broken Steel. Join the ranks of the Brotherhood of Steel and rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave remnants once and for all. Continues the adventure past the main quest. Scheduled for release in March.

No word on official dates or prices yet, but it looks like whatever the price, the packs will be well worth the cost. With two whole new areas and a chance to kick some more Enclave ass, I know I won't be the only one eagerly awaiting these packs.

It's nice to see some developers using DLC for what it should be used for. An opportunity to increase the value of their game without ripping off the consumer. I'm looking at you, Namco!

Sorry PS3 owners, nothing's been said about any DLC for you guys, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.
