A Farewell to Skate: The Final Bail Video
Posted: January 7, 2009 - 8:27 pm by Jeremy

With tomorrow’s release of the Skate 2 demo and the full game coming in two weeks, I decided that it would be a good time to take a quick look back at the game that changed how skateboarding video games would forever be played. It single-handedly dethroned the Tony Hawk series from the top of the heap by outselling it 2 to 1.

When the game was announced, like many others, I was skeptical.  I was very hopeful, but due to the fact that it was being put out there by EA, I wasn’t sure what to expect.  Then, there came the demo.  I can honestly say that I have never played a demo for any game as much as I played this one.  I knew that the full game was going to be something special.  I was not mistaken.

There is only one game that I have played more than Skate, and if that is any indication, nothing will be in my Xbox 360 more than Skate 2. I even did a short series of bail videos using the Skate demo before moving on to the full game.  These videos turned out to be extremely popular, and since I know that I probably won’t be playing the original Skate again after the demo comes out tomorrow morning, I figured it would be fitting to send off Skate with a bail montage video.

Enjoy, and make sure to check back tomorrow for some hands-on impressions from the Skate 2 demo and possibly some new bail videos.
