Rumor: DSi Priced and Dated for North America
Posted: January 13, 2009 - 8:23 pm by Jeremy

As soon as the DSi was announced, we were all wondering when we could get our grubby little hands on it here in North America.  Thanks to some "sources close to Nintendo", we may very well know.  These sources have stated that it will hit the market on April 4th for a retail price of $179.99.

Multiple sources close to Nintendo tell IGN that the company is gearing up to debut the anticipated successor to its DS Lite handheld during the first half of this year in America. More specifically, the company has allegedly relayed to its partners that DSi will ship stateside in early April, most likely on April 4. Insiders assert that they have been told the system will retail for $179.99 when it launches domestically.

I really hope this turns out to be the real deal, because I would really want to get my hands on one. We'll keep you posted.

I'm down. I'll take the bigger screens and updated hardware.

I was watching some hands on video's,
I don't see the practicality yet.
I could see the SD card opening up possibilities, but No GBA slot really upsets me.
Waste of money IMO.

I'm with you on this one. I've already spent $150 on my Lite. I don't see the advantages to upgrading.
