UPDATE: EA Cashes in on Michael Jackson's Death
Posted: June 30, 2009 - 5:10 pm by John

In 'honor' of the King of Pop's recent passing, EA is now allowing players of Battlefield Heroes to purchase MJ outfits with real money. For $3 FREE, players can dress their characters up in either a Smooth Criminal or Bad outfit. The good guys get to dress up in the Smooth Criminal clothes while the baddies don a Bad getup.

Now if this stuff was free, it would sit a whole lot better with me. But to pay for these clothes? I understand Battlefield Heroes survives off players who purchase these things but this reeks of bad taste on EA's part.

UPDATE: Electronic Arts has stated that the outfits will be free, noting that the prices mentioned were seen on the Battlefield Heroes test servers. Upon release to the actual public, they will be offered at the consumer-friendly price of no dollars.
