StarCraft II Fans Petition Lack of LAN Play
Posted: July 2, 2009 - 6:52 pm by Brandon

In a move that should surprise nobody, the StarCraft community has generated a petition protesting the lack of support for local area network play for the hotly anticipated sequel, gathering more than 6000 signatures already. The petition argues points brought up by Blizzard when they announced the lack of support for LAN play.

This sounds like the same sort of thing that came up with Diablo III and the art direction. People have this pristine image of the earlier games in their minds and nothing Blizzard does will be able to live up to the expectations for these sequels. While this problem is certainly different than the art direction issues or the expanding SC2 into three games, it seems like Blizzard's track record should be good enough for the fanbase to trust in the company to do what they think is best. Then again, there's always the crazed fanboys who will never be happy...

That was so disappointing, though I understand that they're just avoiding piracy. I enjoyed grinding wow gold and for sure I'll enjoy SCII even without LAN, we know Blizzard they're the best when it comes to MMORPG.
