Trailer for EA's Skate
Posted: April 17, 2007 - 12:09 pm by Jeremy
Ever since word started trickling out about EA's upcoming game Skate, I have been getting more and more excited about it. Now, I do enjoy playing the Tony Hawk games, so don't get me wrong, but a more realistic representation of riding a skateboard is something I've long been waiting for.
Now, it's looking like that wish is going to be fulfilled. No million-plus point combos, no hitting a ollie from street level up to the top of a three-story building. There aren't even any stat upgrades. Your character starts out as good as they will ever be. You get your character to do better by actually playing the game better. It is totally dependent on your thumb skills. Add in the fact that you can save replays and share them with others, including the ability to upload them to the web as a video file, and you've got the makings of a stellar game, even from EA. For more, there is a three page interview on IGN with Scott Blackwood about what to expect out of this game.
