Contest: Nostalgia Art Book
Posted: December 1, 2009 - 6:35 pm by Brandon

It's that time again! I have in my possession, one exclusive art book from the game Nostalgia, which came out a few weeks ago. What do you have to do to win it? Read on to find out!

If you haven't heard about it yet, Nostalgia is the airship-filled adventuring RPG for the DS made by the same team responsible for the FFIV DS port. You can check out our review of it here.

Entering is as easy as always. Just post a comment here of something gaming related that makes you nostalgic. You can do this once a day until the contest ends next Wednesday (the 9th). We'll pick the best entry afterwards and the winner will be notified via PM. As always, you need to be a registered user to qualify. Good luck!

Haha, the whole "It's a me, Mario" part in Assassins Creed 2 took me back.

Hehe, I did a double-take when I heard that part. Couldn't stop laughing.

I believe that the most nostalgia-inducing moments come with the Super Smash Bros. series...

To me, the most nostalgic moment in gaming was loading up Ocarina of Time way back in 1998 after a lifetime of playing the top-down games. I spent hours running around the forest in absolute wonder at what I was seeing and even today I still get chills when I play the opening sequence of that game.

My favourite video game of all times is Yoshi's Island. I have probably spent more hours of my life playing it than any other game. I still replay it to death. However, for a few year I was without a copy. Somehow my cartridge broke, though I still have it saved in my room. I can't ever get rid of

It cut off the end of my lengthy reply. Is there a character limit, or just a glitch?

There's a character limit, sadly. But I agree with you about Yoshi's Island. That game was and still is some good stuff. The final boss fight still ranks up there are one of my favorite.

This is a limitation that will be removed in our next update.

The game "Nostalgia", brought back some memories of when Final Fantasy VII first came out, and me and my cousin found out the we could fly the "Highwind"(airship) in the game.

A friend of mine was showing me Valkyra Chronicles for the PS3, and at some point he brought up that Skies of Arcadia main characters Vyse and Aika were playable in the game. Made me think back to that amazing game. Then seeing Nostalgia in the store brought back similar memories. I loved Arcadia...

While I was knee deep in titles like Tekken, Ridge Racer and Super Smash Bros., a curious entity entered my house roughly a decade ago.

Upon a whim, my brother had purchased a copy of Metal Gear Solid for the PS1, and I was amazed at how different the game was from what I normally played.

Every time I see a Star Wars prequel movie, I remember how much better of a story Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic had than any of the three prequels, especially Eps 1 and 2, and I weep a bit. Having seen the Original Trilogy in theaters, then the remastered Original Trilogy, Eps 1&2 blow hard.

Loading up Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 always reminds of the classic arcades. The REAL arcades that were actually worth it back then, coin after coin after coin@_@

Thinking about the C64, with its datasette tape recorder, brings back memories on an epic scale. It was a time of looong loading screens. Remember the epileptic lights that would dance around as a game was loading? Not to mention the counter on the actual recorder - almost hypnotic to watch ^^

Recently I picked up Star Ocean: The First Departure on the PSP and while I never played the original version it did being me back to The Second Story and the whole PS1 jRPG era from when I first broke into the genre when I was young. I can't believe my fav games of the time are now "classics".

One of my friends was complaining about how there are not really any good Dragon games out there that he knows of. There's Spyro of course, but that's more playing a drake. When he mentioned this, I had to urge to pull out Spyro and play it again. I love that game.

While cleaning out the house during remolding plans found my old NES in a box in my closet. Proceed to play old games from my childhood well into the night until was yelled at to go to bed...much like much of my childhood.

Playing Zelda always reminds me of being banned from watching my older brother play Legend of Zelda after sleepwalking into my parents room and asking if they had enough money to buy the sword yet.

I fortunately no longer sleepwalk, and I can afford the sword.

I felt Nostalgia for FF8 when I was cleaning out a bunch of my junk and found the game buried at the bottom of a box. I then played it for 6 hours straight and only stopped because I really had to use the bathroom.

I am clearly so tricky to beat the character limit this way: http://tinypic.com/r/2ijm5tx/6

Haha, very clever. We'll let it slide this time because it's so well written.

I felt nostalgic today when I saw someone walking with their Gameboy Color. And then I felt even more nostalgic when I saw the game they were playing was the original Pokemon Red. I need to go find that game now.
