The newest issue of Nintendo Power had some very interesting information about EA Sports Madden '08 for the Nintendo Wii. The biggest news? It's going to be online!

• Exhibition match-ups
• Online lobby with real-time leaderboards
• EA Locker features
• EA “My Profile” when online, which includes country of origin, win/loss record, defensive percentage, overall ranking, and 5-star reputation score
• ESPN ticker updates
• Promised downloadable content such as roster updates planned for late 2008, early 2009
• Wii players will be able to randomly play against opponents No voice chat, but will offer EA’s instant-messaging system

Now for me, this is good news. I like Madden well enough, but I planned on getting All-Pro Football 2K8 for the 360, and Madden for the Wii. The fact that the Wii version is going to have online play is excellent. I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to get stomped by people online in Madden this year.
