Activision Replacing Bungled Wii Guitar Hero III Discs; Prepping for DLC
Posted: December 7, 2007 - 9:22 am by Jeremy

Earlier this week I contacted Activision asking them about fixing the audio, adding Co-Op Quickplay, and downloadable content for the Wii version of Guitar Hero III. At first all I received was the generic answer of not talking about unreleased patches and to keep checking the website for news. However today, I got an actual response.

We recently became aware that some consumers have not been able to enjoy the full audio output in the Wii version of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. We are currently working with Nintendo and are planning to issue an improved audio experience in future versions of the game. We expect to have re-mastered discs available by early 2008 and we will be offering consumers replacement discs at no cost once they become available.

Downloadable content for the Wii is something we are working very hard on getting in place for the new year. There is no definite timetable in place but we are hoping it will be soon.

Should you have any further inquiries, please contact Activision customer support at www.activision.com/support. We thank all of our customers for their support and patience.

While I am glad that they are fixing it in a way that everyone will have access to, it really stinks that we have to wait until sometime into 2008 for it to happen.

As for the DLC, bring it on! I at least need to be able to play The Devil Went Down to Georgia in single player quickplay.

I am still waiting for an answer to the question of fixing Co-Op Quickplay, and as soon as I get one, I will keep everyone updated!

Great. Now if I could just get Red Octane to respond to my ticket about my GH2 for my 360 not working...

Nothing. That's the problem. It locks up at the loading screen every time I try to load it. It just worked on Thanksgiving, too.

gah, that sucks... I haven't loaded up GH2 in a bit, wonder if it's a patch issue.
