FigurePrints.com now open for business!
Posted: December 11, 2007 - 11:34 am by Matt

FigurePrints.com has officially opened its doors today. By partnering with Blizzard Entertainment, FigurePrints.com is able to give World of Warcraft players the ability to bring their characters to life by creating a replica figure of their in-game character. The service went live today, December 11, and costs $99.95 per figure.

“For the first time, we are taking this new technology and using it to bring objects out of a virtual world and into the real world through 3D printing,” said Fries (former Microsoft Game Studios vice president and now CEO of FigurePrints). “We are turning the actual characters that gamers play into something that is tangible and physical, no longer just online, and frankly we just think that is really cool.”

Despite the steep price tag this is a sweet addition to the strong World of Warcraft army. Who wouldn't love to have a little Madzilla (gnome warrior FTW!) on their desk.

If I was still hooked on WoW I would totally jump at this even if I don't have raid gear.

I'd do it if I had a good gear set. Right now, it looks like I shop at the local thrift store in Goldshire.
