Wii shortage is not intentional. Wii Promise.
Posted: December 14, 2007 - 10:00 pm by Jesse

Hey everybody, hope you are having a happy friday! Are you having trouble finding a Wii? Well we've got some information for you.

During a press conference today, we heard from Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime that the Wii shortages are not intentional. Are we suprised? Not really. I'm glad to see Nintendo getting somewhere with a new market but I personally have some family members calling me and asking me how I got my Wii.  Nintendo is currently pumping out 1.8 million consoles a month but still cannot meet demand.

Nintendo is partnering with GameStop to create a "rain check" program where customers can buy a certificate on December 20th and 21st for the full price of the Wii system which will secure a system for pick-up in January.  I can only hope Nintendo can meet demand after Christmas and have enough systems on shelves to meet demand.

Have fun,
Jesse

That's going to be quite annoying.
Customer - "Why can't *I* get a rain check?"

Me - "Because we were only allocated x units, you are the x+146 person to demand to be on the list."
