In the market for a PlayStation 3? Well soon you will have a choice between the original Black or a new, swanky, White version. According to the guys over at GamesIndustry.biz, "Filings at the Federal Communications Commission reveal that Sony will be releasing the Ceramic White PlayStation 3 in North America". The new PS3 model will be 40gb and will come with a matching white DualShock 3 controller.

As far as a expected release date, those details are not available at this time, but the article goes on to say:

A covering letter from Sony Japan shows that the unit was submitted to the FCC and the American Telecommunications Certification Body in October of last year, requesting short-term confidentiality "to avoid premature release of sensitive information prior to marketing or release of the product to the public."
