It looks like our favorite version of the PS3 is no more.

We are hearing word from the retail front of Gamestop that corporate is telling the stores that they won't be receiving anymore stock of the 80GB backwards compatible version of the PS3. Also interesting to note is that the 80GB model has also been taken off of their website.

We heard some news about this last year from Best Buy but now it looks like it's true. It's apparent that Sony is no longer producing this sku. We may hear something about this next week at the Game Developers Conference.

Maybe that 120GB model we've been hearing about will be the next high end sku to take it's place.
