Microsoft says Xbox 360 shortage is real

Looking to buy an Xbox 360 this weekend? You may have a harder time finding one than you think.

It feels weird talking about console shortages and not talking about the Wii but that is exactly what's going on. It would appear that the Xbox 360 is pretty hard to find right now.

Jeff Bell, head of Microsoft's Global Marketing, said this regarding the shortage.

"We're literally out of stock in many stores. We think this will have an impact on our sales. It may cause the overall industry number to be down a little bit. Retailers have been really upset. It is a lag I think we're seeing in January and that may continue into February, then as spring ramps up, we'll be able to meet that demand."

Well there you go. Straight from the horses mouth. I don't think that this is going to a shortage of Wii proportions but we'll keep an eye on it still.

On a side note, I'm glad my birthday isn't this month.

meijer had a few pros left here locally, but i know gamestops and best buys are out.
crazy right now for systems.
