Konami’s psychological thriller/horror series Silent Hill is making its gruesome way to both PS3 and Xbox 360 with an unconfirmed release date later this year. This time the story centers on a young man named Alex Shapard returning from war only to find his father and brother missing from their home. I’ll give you one guess where this mystery leads Mr. Shepard. That’s right, the foggy depths of Silent Hill!

After the recent success of the movie, SHV is sure to be a top seller on both platforms, and with the new technology that the 360 and the PS3 brings to the franchise we are going to see Silent Hill like never before. They have already confirmed that users will be able to use Alex’s ability as a soldier to aid him in the evil that is Silent Hill with new combat grappling and evasions moves. They’ve also announced that more than ever, the main character will be a product of his surroundings. You bump into a table in the middle of a room and it will move and make a sound, alarming enemies to your whereabouts.

I have heard an unconfirmed rumor that the camera will be copying that of the over the shoulder view of Resident Evil 4. I really hope they incorporate at least something to a new camera as the older ones were very clunky.
