It's been a while since I wrote a journal type blog entry, so here goes:

I dunno what it is, but I've grown to love the PSP. I used to be all 'Nintendo Fanboy' when it came to handheld gaming systems. I own every tier of the Game Boy line, 2 original DS (one which I imported from Japan) and a DS lite. I have well over 20 Game Boy games, and just as many GBA titles, not to mention a DS collection of over 30. Forever it just seemed like Nintendo ruled the handheld gaming enviroment, and I followed. Nothing seemed to be as good as a Nintendo portable.

Ever since I got my PSP though, I've slowly grown more and more attached to it. One of the main reasons I disliked the PSP was due to it's library of games. There just seems to be so many subpar titles. I would go to the store to look for something new to play, but there seems to be more bad than good out there. But after some research, you can definitly find some diamonds in the rough which redeem the system.

I originally bought the system soley for Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles and later Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. What was going to be a dedicated system for playing those titles; has become one of, if not the main console I have been playing recently.

Perhaps this is due to me being fairly busy, and since it is portable I can play when/where-ever. If I want to play a quirky cute game, I'll pop in some Patapon. Perhaps some Action/RPG is in order, then it's either Crisis Core or Valkyre Profile. Platforming calls for Castlevania and Daxter, and if I'm looking for strategy of some sort I'll pop in Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, or Metal Gear Ac!d. Plus, since they are all made with a portable system in mind, I can get a quick gaming fix and move along.

Sure I know I can play my DS for a on-the-go gaming fix, but my DS Lite has been shelved for a while now. Until a new game comes out for it and it's a 'must have', it seems like the DS will be warming the bench. Though with talk of a new DS Castlevania being released, maybe things will change...
