I don't mean to sound like I'm throwing 'hate' at Sony when I comment on the current announcements during E3. I love my PSP and JUST recently bought a PS3, I own more PS2 games than anything else currently (Even after I trimmed my collection down). But I choose to play multi-platform games on my 360. Why? Because most of my friends have a 360, so we can play online together. The achievements are nice too, but I'm over the whole 'gotta get points' thing, not that seeing a new Achievement pop during a game isn't exciting. Sure the PS3 has 'Trophies' now, but at the moment little or nothing supports them, though if Home has a place to display Trophies within it, that would be awesome. The Dualshock was awesome on the PS1 and the PS2, but on the PS3 the L2/R2 shoulder buttons are kinda wonky feeling, like there is too much spring to them or something. But, if a new Tony Hawk game comes out that is able to take me away from skate., I am totally playing it on the PS3. I've never liked the Xbox or 360's face buttons for playing that franchise, they seem to jut out of the face of the controller too much for my taste. But even though the Dualshock 3 is basically more of the same, design-wise. I just like the 360's controller better, it feels more rigid and seems to fit better in my hands.

Home is going to be cool, there is no doubt in my mind that it isn't. I did some more reading on it the other day, and the concept is interesting and I want to play around with any customization available. But Sony needs to get their asses in gear and, at least get the Open Beta out so people can start messing with it. Especially now with the new features Microsoft will be unleashing come Fall with the new Dashboard and LIVEparty and Netflix. Hopefully more exclusives hit the shelves so they have more pull in bringing people to their side. I've said since I decided to get a PS3 that I'm probably only going to get console exclusive for it. Can't wait to see how LittleBigPlanet and inFamous turn out, not much else other than Folklore has piqued my interest. I'm not into the whole 'Online only' thing, and love a good single player campaign, so Warhawk is out of the picture. Though I never got into either series, I'm sure that when a new God of War comes out it'll be a hit for them, and the Ratchet & Clank games seem to be big hits. The only other title that is releasing that I'm really looking forward to is Final Fantasy XIII, which system to get it for is up in the air at the moment, but I'll most likely get it for the 360 now. If there are any other good exclusives for the PS3 please let me know.

As far as HD goes, it's nice, but graphics aren't the first thing I think of when I'm deciding on a game. Never been much of a 'graphics whore', hell I have all my legacy systems still hooked up to my television and play them regularly. Sure, I own a HDTV and have my 360, PS2 and PS3 hooked up to it via Component cables. I do expect games now to be as crisp as possible considering the new hardware available. But, I'd much rather play a game that looks 'o.k.' and has amazing game play, than a game that has amazing graphics and shoddy game play. Which is one of the reasons I can't wait for the new Mega Man game to be released!!

Hi-Def movies? Ya, I own a HD-DVD drive for my 360, I have the 5 free movies that came free via the mail in offer, Transformers and the only thing I've purchased in a HD format is Season 1 of Heroes. I don't plan on buying Blu-ray movies, unless it's 'perhaps' an awesome CGI animated movie, or something with brilliant special effects And, I completely refuse to repurchase my DVD collection in a HD format, I've already done this once with my VHS collection, which I still am missing a few titles. Now-a-days the amount of time I spend watching movies is pretty limited anyway, so if I can get the same movie for $15 in DVD or $25 in Blu-ray, I'll take DVD. But damn I may have to get Iron Man in Hi Def!

Either way, I guess my main thing is, Sony seemed to have hit the nail on the head with the breakout success of the original PlayStation, then followed that up by trumping it with the PlayStation 2. But now for some reason, in my eyes anyway, they seem to be wavering a bit when it comes to the PS3. They've released multiple versions of the console, either 20, 40 60 or 80gb of Hard Drive space. Either with or without backwards compatibility. The recent release of the MGS4: Guns of the Patriots bundle has backward compatibility (via emulator), but the recently announced 80gb console has the same capability as the 40gb configuration (no B.C.). The original price point was way over the competition, and the whole time they seemed to not realize that something just wasn't 'clicking'.
