The Importance of Casinos in Past Grand Theft Autos

September 2, 2013 - 12:00 am by
Casinos are very important in Grand Theft Auto Andreas. This edition of the game is set in the mythical state of Andreas which appears to be a fusion of Nevada and California. The three cities are Los Santos, obviously Los Angeles, Las Venturas obviously Las Vegas and San Fierro, yes, you guessed it, San Francisco. Casinos appear in several locations and are critical to the game’s main play as well as various sub-plots. The story involves Carl Johnson, otherwise known as CJ, who, on route from Liberty City to Los Santos, hears that his mother has been murdered and that all of his friends and family are in disarray. In the game you are CJ and most of the other characters are members of the Bloods and the Crips, two of the more notorious gangs from Las Venturas. Much of the story revolves round drugs, the LA riots, and various scandals and of course the LAPD. We also have the Da Nang Boys, the Mafia, Triads and the Grove Street Families, a nice friendly family game of course. The Four Dragons Casino is located in Las Venturas and there are some big rivalries going on between it and the Mafia run Caligula's Palace casino. You are invited to become a partner in the Four Dragons. To tell you any more would be a plot spoiler. You can play various casino games in several of the casinos, the two just mentioned and the Casino Floor. The games include: roulette, video slots, blackjack, video poker, pool as well as virtual horseracing. You have to play pool and horse racing to build up your stake, which you can do quite easily, and then you can use it to win money on the casino games, which you might be pretty good at if you have played at online casinos like You can also borrow money from the casino, but if you own very much of it and don’t pay it back then they send out the bad boys to get you, so make sure that you are well armed. They are not difficult to kill if you have the right weapon.

New Transformers: Prime Wii U Trailer

October 9, 2012 - 10:12 am by Jeremy

Activision just dropped this new trailer for Transformers: Prime (a.k.a. Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Lite) for the Wii U.  The game will be using character models straight from the TV show, and everything looks pretty good.  I'm actually kind of excited for this game!

The latest DLC for Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is now live, and it brings with it the Insecticons.  Oh yeah, it also gives you the Gen 1 skin for Optimus Prime.  The DLC will run you 800 MS Points ($9.99 for PSN and PC users).  What are you waiting for?  Go warp some minds for Megatron.

Wii U Coming November 18 for $299 and $349

September 13, 2012 - 10:07 am by Jeremy

After all the months of waiting, rumors, and speculation, we finally have a release date and some prices for the Nintendo Wii U!  The Wii U will be available in North America on November 18, almost a monh before the system will launch in Japan.  There are two SKUs for the system, one for $299 and one for $349.  The $299 system is white, and it comes with the GamePad and 8 GB of internal memory.  The $349 system is black, and comes with the GamePad, 32 GB of memory, and NintendoLand as a pack-in game.  Oh, Nintendo also announced that all Virtual Console and WiiWare games would be transferrable.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is going to get some DLC on September 11, and it is going to bring the Dinobots into the online fray for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC versions of the game.  The Dinobot Destructor Pack will allow you to use the Dinobot parts in the character creator, or you can just use the full body models.  That seems to be all this DLC is adding, and we have no price on it as of yet.

Also, you should consider yourself lucky, because I almost typed this post up as Grimlock.

Capcom has announced that a new demo for Resident Evil 6 will be available to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners on September 18.  This will be a new demo, so if you already played the one you got with Dragon's Dogma, you might still want to download this one.  You can check out the release after the jump!

The Amazing Spider-Man, the reboot of the Spider-Man movie franchise, is going to be in theaters soon, and that means licensed video game time.  That isn’t necessarily a bad thing these days though. Half of the time, the games have been better than the movie (I’m looking at you, Wolverine Origins).  Plus, this is a Spider-Man game, and those have been very good recently.  Today, there was a demo released on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo 3DS version of the game.  We haven’t heard much about the 3DS version, so this demo will really be the first look at this version.  The big question: Is this game going to be any good?  Let’s find out.
